A large, vintage naval warship with multiple decks, radio masts, and visible lifeboats sails on calm water under a cloudy sky. An aeroplane is strapped to the midsection of the ship. The Society received many requests for crested Bibles, these included the RN, Army, RAF, WRNS, ATS and the WAAF. Foreign nations such as the French and Polish also requested Bibles. Whilst demand was high, production of Bibles was difficult due to the shortage of paper. At the end of the War the Society was serving about 2,000 Chaplains and Lay Workers.
